Following Kelly Jordon’s big win at the PAA Classic on Lake Fork, TX, Tabu’s Matt Herren finished second in the Bassmaster Southern Open on Santee Cooper, SC. Matt now sits in 4th place in the standings with one event remaining at Lake Guntersville later this fall. The top 5 in the standings will qualify for the Bassmasters Classic!
But the biggest win for Team Tabu so far for 2008 is Fred Roumbanis’s victory at Lake Murray, SC. Fred conquered the BASS Elite Series field with a 4 day total of 20 bass weighing in at 66-13. Fred sits in 9th place in the BASS AOY race with 5 events to go. Great job Freddy, keep catching ‘em!!! (Read Story)

Congrats to Tabu Tackle’s Kelly Jordon for a 9th place finish on Lake Toho in the Citrus Slam BASS Elite series tournament. Also scoring a big check at Lake Toho and collecting some good points for the season was Fred Roumbanis, who finished 31st after a season opening finish of 28th earlier this month on the Harris Chain. Great job to them both and good luck in the next event on Lake Falcon, TX.

Tabu Tackle’s Big Bass specialist is at it again. KJ leads the 110 man field in the Bassmaster Elite Series on Lake Toho, FL. He has 44-3 for two days, a massive eight pounds over Byron Velvick in second place. Fred Roumbanis, the newest member of Tabu Tackle sits in striking distance with 29-8, good for 14th place after two days. We want to wish Kelly and Fred the best of luck over the weekend. The top 50 fish tomorrow and only the top 12 get to fish on Sunday. Go get ‘em again boys!!

Harvey Started Deep, Then Went Shallow

Last week, BassFanArmy.com published a Bass Recon story to help anglers prepare for Saturday’s Murray South Carolina BFL. In that story, Murray stud Anthony Gagliardi said if he were fishing the event, he’d fish both deep and shallow.

Turns out his advice was right on. Justin Harvey from Gaffney, S.C. – who happens to be a friend of Gagliardi’s – worked both depth zones to cull up to his tournament-winning 18-08 limit.

He started deep, then went shallow. What follows are the important details of his Murray BFL winning pattern.

FLW Tour pro and former Angler of the Year Anthony Gagliardi didn’t have to think too hard when the BassFan Army asked him to pin down the current bite at South Carolina’s Lake Murray.

For one, he lives on the lake and is right on top of what’s happening. And two, the intel for this weekend’s Murray BFL pretty much mirrors the Murray intel he provided to Bass Recon a few months ago.
